In Which JK Rowling’s THE CASUAL VACANCY Freaks Me Out a Little

Hello my dear LifeBits Readers! Yesterday a Very Big Thing transpired in the literary world. JK Rowling (choirs of angels singing), author of the delightfully creative and slightly whacked-out Harry Potter series, released a new book into the world: THE CASUAL VACANCY.

I've only read reviews. But I'm not sure what to think about what I read.

No, actually I AM sure what to think about it. So sure in fact that I blogged about it HERE on Challenging the Gnome. I'd love to know your thoughts on the matter–whether you've read the book. Whether the reviews make you more likely or less likely to read it. And what you think about JK's complete departure in tone and sensibility from the HP series.

So for this Friday, I invite you to pop over to the Gnomes blog, read my post, and let me know what your feelings are. (Once again, you'll find it here. And here. And here. In case you were wondering.)

Have a wonderful weekend, my friends!

My greatest pleasure in life has been raising my four excellent children--some of whom liked me so much that they keep coming back. My second greatest pleasure has been doing whatever I can to make people laugh and create bright moments. I hope to do a bit more good in the world before I go the way of it. And if not, I'd better at least get to spend some serious time writing and singing in a castle somewhere in the UK.
