Nothing is Constant Except Change. Let’s Change.

So you know how sometimes you decide to make your life easier by combining things and then you sit back and wait for the simplification to happen except it never does because by combining things you just made your life less simple?

Yeah. Me too. That's what I just did on this blog with my Friday posts. I thought by putting up recipes and links to said recipes, and then links to my Gnomes posts, and then finding a funny clip and writing a little bit about it, I'd have less work to do than just writing a Friday post.

Yep. Welcome to my brain.

Time for a change back to the way things used to be.There may be videos. There may be links. There will definitely be something seriously dorky and hopefully giggle-worthy written up here. But I'm done with simplifying. It turned my Thursdays into a nightmare of: OMIGOSH!-I-FORG0T-TO-DO-THE-FRIDAY-POST-A-THON-OF-GINORMOUSNOUSNESS-AND-NOW-IT'S-MIDNIGHT-AND-I-HAVEN'T-DONE-IT-AND-IT-TAKES-FOREVER-ACK-I'LL-GET-UP-EARLY-AND-DO-IT-DOUBLE-ACK-IT'S-MY-KID'S-BIRTHDAY-I-GOTTA-DO-HIS-BREAKFAST-GIFT-A-PALOOZA-THING-AND-NOW-THERE'S-NO-TIME-TO-POST-ANYTHING-WAIT!-WHERE-THE-HECK-IS-A-RECIPE-I-CAN-THROW-UP-THERE-OY-I-FORGOT-PICTURES-AND-I'VE-GOTTA-WRITE-SOMETHING-WITTY-AND-PITHY-WHAT-THE-HECK-I'LL-JUST-PUT-UP-A-PICTURE-OF-HOTDOGS:

GASP-GASP-THERE-I-HOPE-THAT'S-GOOD-ENOUGH-EEP-IT'S-NOON!

Nope. Not a good plan. We'll go back to what we were doing, whatever that was. I do know there was no structure whatsoever involved. Life is so much better that way.

And yes. That is hotdog casserole. Here's the recipe if you want it:

–Stick buns with mayonaise smeared on them in a casserole dish. Throw on some relish, ketchup, mustard, and whatever else flips your cookies. Smoosh the hotdogs into the buns. Slather chili on top. Scatter cheese over it and throw on lots of chopped onions if you have no intention of kissing anyone tonight.

–Bake at 350 for like I don't know. However long it takes to get all melty and hot and done. Like maybe 40 minutes. But check it at a half an hour.

And yes, it is probably just as fast to make chili dogs on your grill individually and let everyone stuff them on their own. Whatev. This was a mess and fun and smooshy. You gotta have smooshy once in a while.

See? That's what you come to my blog for: random, unorganized smooshy.

Love you too, peeps.

PS – Here's a link to my post on Gnomes: (Linkity Link). It's about entering contests. And really weird poetry.

My greatest pleasure in life has been raising my four excellent children--some of whom liked me so much that they keep coming back. My second greatest pleasure has been doing whatever I can to make people laugh and create bright moments. I hope to do a bit more good in the world before I go the way of it. And if not, I'd better at least get to spend some serious time writing and singing in a castle somewhere in the UK.

  1. Cassidy, thank you! You don’t get a lot of feedback as a writer/blogger type person–as I’m sure you know. Sometimes I feel like I’m blogging to my cat. And I don’t have a cat. Thank you for your kind reassurance!
